How the balance works
Credit is dollars, not points.
Your plan does not hand you a bucket of opaque credit units. It adds a month of usage to one balance, in dollars, drawn down at the per-character rate printed on your plan.

Included every month
Each renewal adds the month's usage to one workspace balance. It expires at the end of the billing period; money you top up yourself never does.

Every request draws from it
Synthesis is drawn down per character at your plan's rate, in dollars, so what a request costs is arithmetic you can do yourself.

After that, pay as you go
Past the balance, a paid plan spends whatever you have topped up, at the same rates. Auto top-up, off until you switch it on, keeps production from stalling. Free pauses until the next month.

What exactly do I get for the monthly fee?
A month of text-to-speech usage, plus the plan's rates, limits, and features. Starter covers 1.9M characters, Pro 13.5M, and Scale 78M. It arrives as one balance in dollars, drawn down at your plan's per-character rate.
Can I buy voice agents on one of these plans?
Voice agents are an enterprise product. Deployments are scoped with our team and priced per contract, so there is no self-serve plan and no published per-minute rate. Talk to sales and we will scope the deployment, the volume, and the telephony with you. Workspaces already running agents are unaffected.
Does the unused balance roll over?
The monthly balance is minted at the start of each billing period and expires at the end of it, so it does not roll over. Money you add yourself is different: a top-up you purchase stays on your balance until you spend it.
How is usage calculated?
Text-to-speech is billed by the number of characters sent to the API. Whitespace and SSML tags are not counted.
Are there hidden fees or commitments?
No. The per-character rate on your plan is the rate you pay, there is no annual commitment on a self-serve plan, and you can cancel anytime.
What happens when the balance runs out?
On Starter, Pro, and Scale, usage carries on against whatever you have topped up, drawn at your plan's rate: $10 per 1M characters on Starter, $8 on Pro, $6 on Scale. If that runs to zero too, requests pause until you add funds, so switch on auto top-up if production must never stall. It is off until you turn it on. Free cannot top up at all and simply pauses until the next billing cycle. We notify you as you approach the limit either way.
How do I add more money?
From your dashboard. You can buy a top-up whenever you like, and turn on auto top-up to add a set amount whenever the balance drops below a threshold. It is all in dollars at the published rates, so there are no opaque credit units and no guessing what a request costs. The free tier cannot top up.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately and you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the cycle. Downgrades (and cancellations) take effect at the end of your current billing term, so you keep what you've already paid for until then.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as ACH bank transfers for enterprise plans. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No. Self-serve plans (Starter, Pro, and Scale) are month-to-month with no commitment. Enterprise plans can be structured as annual agreements with volume discounts. You can cancel at any time.
"Cancel anytime" applies to self-serve plans (Free, Starter, Pro, and Scale), with no annual contract or lock-in. Downgrade or close your workspace whenever you like. Enterprise plans follow the terms of your agreement.
