Xun Zhu

I build scientific platforms, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools.

I'm a Tech Lead Manager at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where I lead development of Planet9, a cloud platform for biomedical analysis. My work spans researcher-facing applications, workflow orchestration, and production infrastructure.

My background combines bioinformatics research and hands-on software engineering, including single-cell analysis platforms and machine learning for biomedical data.

    A file explorer for local files and S3-compatible storage. Rust backend, React frontend, resumable transfers, and a shared interface across storage backends.

    A single-binary Go tool that streams structured logs into an interactive browser UI. Built while debugging services on Kubernetes.

    A WebGPU renderer for 3D Gaussian splats, with GPU radix sorting, a React component, and interactive demos, including a sorting algorithm visualizer.

  • ecd_agent
    A clinical site-feasibility AI prototype combining protocol retrieval and SQL tools. Uses public trial protocols and mock enrollment data, with abstention paths when evidence is missing.
