The New Competitive Edge: AI-Native organisations

ThreadSafe Systems

For three decades, I've been on the front lines of software engineering and technical leadership, witnessing wave after wave of technological change. I've seen platforms rise, architectures evolve, and entire industries transform. But the current shift, driven by Artificial Intelligence, is different.

For the first time, the most advanced software capabilities are no longer the exclusive domain of large enterprises with vast budgets. AI has dramatically lowered the barrier to entry, creating a pivotal opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to acquire sophisticated solutions that can fundamentally reshape their operations.

Our focus is now dedicated to proving and delivering this value.

From Operational Drag to Strategic Advantage

There has never been a better time to be a founder or run a lean startup. The problem of individual scale has, to a large degree, been solved. What once took entire teams months of skilled input to get a product into the open has been reduced to a small team deliverying tangible results in a matter of weeks. The promise of an AI-Native business can be a reality. Agent harnesses are a growing segment and we will start to see incredibly sophisticated offerings emerge. The current crop of open source offerings are catering to open-ended uses and still require a not insignificant investment in time and often some deep technical skill. They absolutely do work if you can put the time and effort in to customise these types of product.

We beleive a smaller set of well defined, opinionated capabilities can lead to a more-or-less turn-key solution - freeing up the org to focus on what really matters.

This is where we come in.

At threadsafe.systems, we are building a small enterprise in a box. Specifically tailored to the needs of founders and startups, the very thing we want for our own business - the virtual chief of staff that is always connected, always current, knows what the business is, who the team members are, what the objectives are and can tie everything together in a single place.

Out of the box it will know how to build infrastructure, how to design and build product, how to organise and project manage.

Configuration should be intuitive and transparent. Skills should be first-class assets that can move from natural language prompts to efficient code! Rather than skill bloat becoming a context issue, skills can actually reduce in size and be organised against agent personas. This is a particular shortcoming with many of today's solutions where thousands of tokens are wasted, stuffing every agent prompt with an entire corpus of information.

Memory is not a file. The agent prompt should not be a dumping ground for every conceivable action or acquired piece of memory. Instead, the agent should understand the context of it's request by having relevant information in its prompt. This should not be something that has to be engineered afresh with each new agent. It shouldn't be a skill that needs defining.

And crucially, you should not need to be an engineer to setup, configure and evolve the solution. You shouldn't need to weigh up memory solutions or worry about how much of it there is. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get data sources integrated and incorporated.

We are solving for cold start with productivity gains from the very first interaction. A solution that not only knows your business, but will effortlessly scale with it.
