Rejoice in the music at a live pan-Arabic concert for all ages! Learn all about three different Arabic drums: the derbakki, the riqq, and the frame drum, as well as a range of melodic instruments. Musician Faisal Zedan and his accompanists will engage families with songs and rhythms from diverse Arabic music traditions across the Middle East and North Africa, from classical to folk and pop. He'll even demonstrate a few beats you can try out for yourself!

Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-5 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Alviso Branch Library to read aloud to their reading coach. Free. Registration not required. In collaboration with JMM Dance Co., Gilroy Library is hosting two Inclusive Sensory Movement and Regulation workshops to celebrate National Autism Acceptance Month. They will be on two Sundays, April 12th and 19th, at 1:30. These workshops will introduce families to sensory regulation through gentle, structured movement activities grounded in rhythm, body awareness, and emotional safety. Led by trained JMM Dance Co. facilitators, children are invited to participate at their own comfort level—moving, observing, or resting as needed. Activities are designed to support self-regulation, confidence, and connection without pressure to perform, making the experience accessible for children with autism and other sensory processing differences. Storytime is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! After storytime, please stay and play with us! We'll have a selection of toys available to enjoy. Meet other families and have fun playing with new and old friends. Free, with limited capacity. Tickets available at the desk 30 minutes before program starts. All individuals (of any age) attending need a ticket and must be present to receive their ticket.

10:30 - 11:30 OneinMath: Math Program for K-3rd at Seven Trees Library
Join us for a free math program for Kindergarten to 3rd grade students to learn basic Arithmetic. Including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division from one digit to four digit numbers. It is taught by trained high school students. The focus is to build confidence and love for Math in young students. Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. Music and Movement is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! Free, 50 person maximum. Story Time tickets required. Another event, Music and Movement B will start at 11:15 for those that weren't able to make it inside for this event. Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime.

Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-5 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Alviso Branch Library to read aloud to their reading coach. Free. Registration not required. The Calabazas Branch of the San Jose Public Library is hosting a Sahaja Meditation Event suitable for all ages. Sahaja Meditation is a time-honored technique that promotes wellness and reduces stress by helping individuals achieve better focus, balance, and inner peace. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably and join for this beneficial experience. The event includes a free guided meditation workshop. Big Bubble Show Indoor is a professional, stage-style bubble performance designed for children and family audiences. The show features a carefully choreographed theatrical sequence of bubble tricks set to music, using various sizes of bubble tools, props, and lighting effects. Children are invited to watch the show from seated chairs arranged in front of the performance area.
