Podcast Generator (2006–2026) was an open-source web application for podcast publishing and self-hosting. Upload a media file, fill in a form, and the tool would generate a podcast-ready RSS feed automatically, no database and no technical knowledge required.

Created by Alberto Betella in 2005 as a university project at the University of Bergamo (Italy), Podcast Generator was released as free and open-source software on April 5, 2006. Across 20 years and 52 releases, it was downloaded more than 500,000 times, powered an estimated 25,000 podcasts worldwide, and was translated into 59 languages by 269 volunteer contributors.

In 2017, Podcast Generator's codebase became the foundation of RSS.com, today one of the world's leading podcast hosting platforms.
