John Henry Belville

Belville owned a very precise pocket watch and worked at the Greenwich
Observatory. In 1836 he started a business where he would set his precise
watch at the observatory and then have the watch sent around London for people
to set their own clocks by. He had over 200 clients. His wife continued the
business after he passed, and his daughter after she passed.

His daughter, Ruth,  came to be known as the Greenwich Time Lady.

Business continued until Ruth retired in 1940.

The watch was a "John Arnold pocket chonometer, No 485/786" and was nicknamed
"Arnold".
